This is probably the most common question I hear…“Can I get insurance leads from Facebook?”  The short answer is YES.  But how you go about it is important.  Let’s look at some of the must-haves to see lead results from Facebook.

Lead Generation Ads

When you first create a Facebook ad, you have to choose what kind of campaign you will be running.  There are a lot of options!

Most agents create a post on their agency Facebook page and “boost” it.  While this is a type of ad (called a Post Engagement), it’s not the best for leads.  It is a great option for getting your post to reach more people!  For example, you might share a picture of your referral reward winner for the month and boost the post so that more people see the referral information.

The next most popular option is creating a Traffic ad.  This is where you create an ad that is shown to people locally.  When they click on the ad, they are sent to your website or your quote landing page.

This is a good option for getting people to your website.  You’ll see lots of clicks and visits from local people.

But if you want to generate the most direct leads – people entering their contact information for you to follow up – then you need to run Lead Generation ads.

But here’s the deal…most agents won’t run these because they’re harder to setup and require a little more tech know-how than a basic traffic ad.

So what do you need to know BEFORE using a Lead Generation ad?

#1 – The leads aren’t delivered automatically.  The cool thing about these ads is that the prospect never has to leave Facebook.  So you don’t need a website or a landing page but there’s a trick.  Facebook doesn’t email the leads to you – they are captured in a spreadsheet inside your agency Facebook page!  Not very helpful.  And unless you’re constantly checking  for new leads, it’s easy to miss them or to respond way too late.

The solution?  You need to integrate your Facebook ad with a service that delivers the lead to you directly.  There are lots of them out there and this is something we do for our clients.

By doing this, you get an almost instant notification so you can call a hot lead without the delay.  Which we all know means better results!

And even better?  When someone fills out your form, they aren’t an internet lead who is being contacted by 5-8 other agents at the exact same time!  If you’ve ever dealt with that, then you know why it’s a great thing. 😉

#2 – Lead Generation ads convert better with an offer.  An offer is an incentive to get a quote right NOW and not wait. So you might be offering a gift card or a contest as an incentive to enter their information.  Make it something that captures your prospect’s attention and that has a limited amount of time to redeem.

You’ll want to make the reward dependent on completing the quote and enter any special requirements in the ad – like that they can’t already be a client with your company.

If you want to see leads from Facebook, my top two recommendations are to use Lead Generation ads and make an offer in your ad!  With that combo, you’ll see the best possible result.
