Sell More Insurance With Testimonials

Sometimes you do a quote and it come back amazing.  You’re saving this client a thousand dollars a year!  They’re ecstatic.  They love you!  They can’t believe they didn’t do this sooner.

This is the time to ask for a testimonial.

Tell your client that you would really appreciate being able to tell others about how much they have saved.  Can they write something that you can use?  Or can you write it for them and they approve it?

There are two kinds of testimonials.  The “Bill’s a really nice guy” testimonial and the “Bill saved us $1,426 dollars a year and lowered our deductible while making it really easy to switch companies!” testimonial.  Which one do you think sell more insurance?  

Ask your client to write something on your agency Facebook page or they could email you directly.  I know that some businesses will offer to write something for the client about how much they saved and then get their approval to use it.

Keep a document on your computer with all of your testimonials listed.  How can you use it?

  • Put a great testimonial in any print ad you run.
  • Share new testimonials on your Facebook page (if they aren’t posted there already).
  • Print a copy and attach it when you mail out a quote.
  • List one or two in your email signature.
  • Put all of the testimonials on your website.

The possibilities are endless.  But you’ve got to get them first!  Catch a client when they’re excited and happy about saving money or have had a fantastic claim experience.

This is great marketing that will last for years!  But it won’t help if you don’t start gathering those testimonials now.
