September is almost here and that means that it’s time to think about selling LIFE INSURANCE!  And there are several reasons why…

Life Insurance Awareness Month

#1 – September is the official Life Insurance Awareness Month.  Which means there are ads, TV commercials, and media talking about life insurance – which makes it easy to bring it up with your clients too!

#2 – We’re in the final third of 2016.  And if you’ve got big life insurance goals that you haven’t hit yet, then it’s time to get focused on them asap.  (Trust me, much better to do it NOW then to wait until the last minute!)

So how you can kick-start the life insurance conversation?

Choose The Right Client

You don’t need to talk to EVERYONE about life insurance.  I remember when I first started in insurance sales, I was told to “ask everyone!”  Not true.  It’s much better to focus your efforts on people most likely to buy.  Look at clients that have young children, young married couples, or those who have a large mortgage for starters.  It’s also a good time to re-activate quotes you’ve done in the past that didn’t close.

The key is to hone in the right people in order to get the best conversion rates.

Use the 3-Step Marketing Method

Check out this blog post for details on running a three step marketing campaign.  This will work for selling anything, but is great for a life insurance campaign!  But start planning it right now, not in mid-September.  It will take a little bit of planning to put in place.  (And make sure to check out the Life Insurance Promotion Kit!)

Activate Facebook Marketing!

Keeping a topic top-of-mind is important.  This month, share articles about life insurance  (especially those shared by various media sources) on your social media pages.  Also share great images and tips to get your clients thinking about this important coverage.  Here’ s a great example:
