March Insurance Marketing Plan

How is it possible that we’re already starting the last month of the 1st quarter of 2017?  Time is flying by!  Are you on pace for your goals?

Remember, the best marketing is the stuff you do on a regular basis.  Social media, referral programs, annual reviews, and networking all work – but you’ve got to do it long term and consistently.  That’s why I share these tips each month!

Here are a few things to do to market your insurance agency in March:

Draw your Referral Rewards winner from February and PROMOTE it on all of your social networks and email newsletter.  Get a photo of your winner or make a video while you draw the name out of a hat… just make it interesting!  This is a huge promotion tool for your agency so make the most out of it.  (The Insurance Marketing System includes a BONUS training on creating your referral program.)

Schedule Annual Reviews – This is a great customer retention tool to put in place all year long.  Some call these “Protection Reviews” because they are making sure to protect their clients (and avoid any gaps in coverage that could lead to an E&O problem.)  If you started by last name in January, then this month focus on last names beginning with E & F.  Look for potential discounts, multi-line opportunities, and display your excellent and above-average customer service!

Get Life Insurance Leads – You’ll send a card out about two months before the prospect’s actual birthday as a reminder that life insurance rates will go up once they are year older.  (Target current clients that are a good life prospect.)  Don’t make this a Happy Birthday card, some might find it offensive!  Instead just use their birthday as a hard deadline for getting the best life insurance rate.  Use the Life Insurance Promotion Kit postcards, scripts, and templates to make this even easier.

Plan Your Social Media – Social media is the perfect place to connect with clients on a regular basis.  But you have to be PERSONAL and CONSISTENT!  Using bland content your company gives you automatically isn’t going to cut it anymore.  Plan to tie in your referral program, photos of your staff, and fun, entertaining info all month long.  (We can help!)

Focus On Auto Insurance – This month’s theme is Auto Insurance.  Plan a campaign to your mono-line home and renters clients, asking them to get an auto quote and earn a multi-policy discount.  Send a postcard, follow up with a phone call, and then send an email.

Educate!  Make a video or go “live” on Facebook and educate your clients on why they should keep all of their insurance with one agency.  Focus on gaps in coverage and discounts.

Plan a St. Patrick’s Day party!  Little holidays might not be your thing, but if you have a team of employees, consider this a great opportunity for a little fun and team building.  Have everyone dress up in green, provide lunch (or have a potluck), bring some cupcakes.  It doesn’t have to be a big celebration, but everyone likes to break up the workplace monotony every once in a while.  Make sure to snap a few pictures and post on Facebook!
